Accreditation to this standard therefore attests to the capability of the laboratories to demonstrate the technical competence to provide reliable diagnostic testing to meet the health and social service needs of stakeholders including patients and the clinical personnel responsible for their care.

ChemScreen Laboratory Services Inc. was established in August, 2001 in 6th Ave Belleville, St. Michael, Barbados. It is a registered Laboratory in Barbados under the Health Service Act 1976 and accredited internationally to the ISO 15189 standard. Our mission is to provide specialized scientific services with emphasis on quality and quick turnaround time. Our objective is to provide accurate and reliable results which assist physicians in patient management. ChemScreen Laboratory Services Inc. started operations out of a small one room rental space, with one worker, offering only basic chemistry tests, full blood count and DNA paternity collection. ChemScreen Laboratory Services Inc. has since grown in staff complement, workspace and now offers a more comprehensive test listing including Serology, Microbiology and Environmental Testing, and in 2022, moved to its own premises at #13, 5th Avenue, Belleville, St. Michael, Barbados, which houses the Corporate Office and Main Laboratory. In 2011, a Collection Centre was opened in the Warrens Healthcare Complex to complement the Belleville location . In 2024, another collection point was opened in Prerogative , St. George. All locations cater for wheelchair access.
